Late Saturday Afternoon

It's late afternoon and out side the window,
It's snowing now quietly, quietly.
My mind is melancholy. I want to cry.
My waiting mind is impatient, like a young girl's.

When will he arrive?
I don't know the day.
He said, maybe will return to the U.S.A. in February.
On which day will be back here?
My mind is waiting impatiently.
*********
Dark is deep, step by step, and
Beginning at mid-night,
The coming of morning is bright
Step by step.
Then do I reach my friend?
When that time comes I'll invite Susan and the Kinn couple.
I hope. I'll wait for that day.
